I took 1/2 the day off yesterday and managed to get some away time from work after working 14 days in a stretch. Went for a facial at BEYOND BEAUTY (their basic Anti-Stress facial is affordable if you don’t add the “extras”) and then had an express manicure in a small shop at Far East Plaza (courtesy of Kai). But I got home a little feverish – perhaps a residue of being overworked?
Anyway, I come back to work today hoping to inspire myself with a modestly crazy outfit! It’s a tease, yo! The crazy print, bold colour, bow detail at the back and the peplum skirting – what a confused and delightful dress!
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Pink leopard-print peplum-skirted dress with black mesh and back bow detail from GEORGE G21 (but I got it 2nd hand off eBay)
Accessories: Custom hand-hammered Twitter URL necklace from klacustomcreations on etsy.com

Footwear: Black peeptoe wedges from ZARA

Here are some songs, all called Runaway and they are all very interesting! As they say on the streets of Bangkok – same same, but different…
General mood of the moment… I want to just run away. Whatever happened my swinging a random bag of clothes and making a run for a spontaneous short getaway? Responsibilities is what happened… gah.
I was the walking personifcation of the doldrums for the last few days because things at home are really grey. I thank my friends for keeping up the conversations while I was practically ignoring everyone else. Luanne and Pearlyn encouraged me to put some colours on – inspired by Lilli of Frocks & Frou Frou, I made an attempt today. I’m a walking rainbow today and these pictures are courtesy of Pearlyn’s patience with the ogre in me for the last few days.
I couldn’t decide which picture (thanks Pearl for taking a ton of them), so I’m putting up 3.
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Lime green summer dress with stripes from GAP
Cardigan: Black cropped cardigan from WAREHOUSE
Accessories: Fake Anna Sui plastic ring in Neon Pink from somewhereonthestreetsofBangkok
Shoes: Pink, gold and black flats from somewhereonthestreetsofBangkok
Special thanks to Luanne who reminded me that eyeliner is my friend and cheered me on to doll up!
edit: I’ve been asked several times where I got the dress from – it’s from GAP but not from the shops. I got it 2nd hand, it belonged to someone else and has been worn before (not immediately of course). It could’ve been from several past seasons, I really have no idea.
Last night was great! I met Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer at Stereolab. My friend (big) Natalie even had me emcee for the show. I was actually fretting (a little) over what to say even though I do this so often for local shows.
Anyway, this is what I wore:
Cardigan: Black 3/4 sleeve boyfriend cardigan from TOPSHOP
Top: Coral frilled strappy top with blue stars from TOPSHOP
Bottoms: Black slimfit trousers from ZARA Basic
Accessories: Bright pink plastic bangle from PRIMARK
Bag: Scurvy kiss-lock handbag from PAUL FRANK
Shoes: Taupe ballet flats from JONES BOOTMAKER
Here’s me going googly-eyed over Neil Gaiman
And here’s (small) Natalie with him!
God knows how girls bigger sized are often told to skip the cute and go for the “slimming” styles. I know if you’re not a size O, you tend to make more fashion faux pas than the average person. Seriously though, if you’re fat, no amount of black is going to be slimming in any way. Might as well walk around in a bright bright pink!!!
I like these, and you might too…
