My Stuff: Crazy Pink Lipstick Lady

I have been using crazy pink lippies for a long time now and whilst I often go for a nude look, when I do pink lipstick, I go all the way out! Hot Pink, fuchsia, neon pink, call it what you want. Here’s my expanded collection (thanks to my friends who gave me fab birthday pressies!)

(L to R) L’Oreal Color Riche 285 Pink Fever, Clarins Rouge Prodige 102 Pink Paradise, MAC Glaze Big Bow, Dior Addict High Shine 864 Sketch Pink, Estee Lauder Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick SIG 52 Brilliant Pink, MAC Satin Hollywood Nights, MAC Viva Glam Satin Nicki, MAC Satin Pink Nouveau, MAC Sheen Supreme Insanely It. I tried swatching and I’m not quite sure what to do. Anyway, I’m an NC25.

My sister gave me the MAC Hollywood Nights (from the Heatherette collection) a long time ago and I have been using it sparingly. It’s a gorgeous pink with purple undertones. The one that’s about to be gone is Big Bow from MAC’s Hello Kitty collection. I use it a lot because of the shimmer particles.

The ones that I use most often these days are L’Oreal Color Riche and the Clarins Rouge Prodige though they both leave lipstick prints all over my things (can get quite messy). But I have to say I still really love my Clarins one because Paradise Pink is such an awesome bubble-gum pink!

I think my least favourite is the Dior Addict one. Firstly, the packaging doesn’t stand. Secondly, it’s so light! I understand it’s supposed to be translucent but OMG… I have to coat it several times just to get colour.

Rydwan and Malcolm got me the MAC Insanely It! for my birthday and it’s really very creamy! My new favourite is a toss-up between that and Sian Eng’s gift of Estee Lauder’s Brilliant Pink. In terms of the texture and colour of Brilliant Pink it’s my absolute favourite amongst all but I don’t like the packaging. The gilded gold is too fancy for a common everyday office lady like me! HAHA!

Yesterday, I traded in my DBS credit card points for 2x$20 MAC vouchers to offset the cost of the Viva Glam Nicki and Pink Nouveau. I think I’m going to trade in my 6 empty MAC containers for another 1 later! Free lipsticks are great!

I’d like to talk about these shoes! My friend Atom from this really rocking band, Hedgehog, bought it for me because I couldn’t find similar ones in Singapore AND, my pal Joe, lovingly carried it back from Beijing!

Oh and I realized I didn’t have lipstick on in the photos and looked kinda washed out. So as an after thought, here – L’Oreal Color Riche 285 Pink Fever.

My Stuff: Contents of my Make-up Pouch (December 2009)

Here’s an update – the last being the October peekaboo into my everyday make-up pouch. This is the stuff that I’ve been carrying around this month.

Contents of my make-up pouch (Dec 09)

Still the lovely cherry-print cosmetics pouch from Steph & Co. by http://www.stephaniejohnson.com/ but some changes to the contents. I currently have:

  2. REVLON new complexion One-Step Compact Makeup – 03 Sand Beige
  3. COULEUR INC Eyebrow Pencil – Light Brown 02
  4. URBAN DECAY Eye Shadow – Cherry
  5. PAUL & JOE Face Color – 06
  6. PAUL & JOE Glistening Eye Colour – 004

Singapore Expo Bargains

After yesterday’s trip, I went back to Singapore Expo with my 2 sisters this morning. We went to the L’Oreal Warehouse Sale, the Penguin Books Warehouse Sale and the Sports & Fitness Expo. My youngest sister zoomed in on the chick lit books at $3 each and ended up buying a ton of them.

Here’re most of our combined purchases

I couldn’t resist and picked out more books. This time, my youngest sister picked up the tab… mwahahahaha! I had a $3 limit for most of my purchases but I couldn’t help but “SPLASH OUT” S$8 for The Widows of Eastwick by John Updike.

I stumbled onto the L’Oreal Warehouse Sale by accident yesterday when I went to Singapore Expo with Natalie, Tamares and Sharon during our lunch break. I told my sisters about it and after some research by my younger sister who checked out bloggers who’ve already done the sale, she gave it her stamp of approval.

Good deals! We bought quite a number of things to last us the next 6 months. Seeing that we share most of our things (including toiletries in the 2 bathrooms), I’d say we’re on the winning side of economies of scale!

All of these are my picks - though most will be shared

1. Garnier hair dye – 2 for S$10

2. L’oreal Feria hair dye – 2 for S$15

3. Visible Results face mask – S$10 for 1 box

4. Maybelline Mousse blush pots – 2 for S$10

5. L’oreal Make-up cleansing cloths – S$10 for a pack of 40 sheets

6. L’oreal Shocking Volume mascara – S$10 for 1

7. Maybelline nail polish remover – S$5 for 1 bottle

8. L’oreal mineral make-up – S$10 for 2

9. Garnier body scrub – S$10 for 2

10. Garnier facial wash – S$10 for 2 (bundled with freebie)

11. L’oreal Elseve shampoo (travel size) – S$1 for 1

Other than that, I bought 3 pairs of socks for $10 from the New Balance booth at the Sports & Fitness Expo right next door. My youngest sister scored a really good pair of black sneakers for $40 and some running tops/t-shirts.

My Stuff: Make-up Removers

I like wearing make-up and on most days, my eyes are really made up with the full works – mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. Removing make-up is a chore. I share a bathroom with 1 of my sisters and thankfully, she’s a cosmestics and skincare product freak. If it were left up to me, I’ll buy the cheapest thing on sale and depend on it. I’m not particular about facial scrubs or wash but I do have a few favourite products that I actually do stock up on my own.

In a previous post, I mentioned the L’Oreal Visible Radiance Renewing Gel Toner. I like this product because a) I need a toner for my oily combination skin b) Gel toners are great as they are not harsh on aging skin c) it’s not expensive at all!!

The other stuff I like and are within my budget are:

  • Kao Biore – Biore Cleansing Oil
Biore Cleansing Oil
Biore Cleansing Oil

Just squirt some into your hands, rub it all over your face, wash off with water. Then finish with facial wash. Great for full make-up days.

  • Boots – Essentials Fragrance Free Eye Make up Remover Pads

These round little discs help remove waterproof eye make-up well. Press one against your eye lid, gently wiggle it over your eye and wipe over your lashes. Unfortunately, I’ve run out of them and I’ll have to wait till someone buys them for me from Thailand or England (or wherever there’s BOOTS).

  • Kao Biore – Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets
Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets (Regular Pack)
Biore Cleansing Oil Cotton Sheets (Regular Pack)

They come in several different packaging. A pack of 10 sheets – convenient for travelling; and a big utility pack of  48 sheets. I buy the utility size refills as I already have the nice box to pull it out of. This is great for those lighter make-up days. Just wipe your entire face with it, then cleanse with a normal facial wash.
