For some reason, my belly looks extremely high and round in these pictures and since these pictures were taken a week ago, I can safely say that I probably look even bigger now. I’m now in my 3rd trimester – actually I still have a few days before I hit it, but for the sake of rounding it up *koffkoff*. We are doing the “less than 100 days to go” countdown but I won’t know how many for sure until my next OBGYN appointment about a week away. I’ve heard that the last month of your pregnancy seems like the longest and most women are so over and done with the symptoms they just want to get the baby out as soon as it’s safe. I have diabetes and some other health factors that make this a high-risk pregnancy. I’ve been told months ago that for safety reasons, I would most likely be induced early or offered a c-section. So we’ll see…

I’ve decided that the next time I wear this ensemble, it’ll be for Christmas. FIngers crossed that it’ll be warm enough indoors when we’re in New York though… What do you think? I think it’s quite Christmassy, no? Of course, I’ll have a super fluffy down-feather mid-length coat with me as well.

Another of my bag lady looks. How comfy is it? VERY!!! I love being all warm and cosy when the air outside is FFRRRREEZING (at least to me). Layering is fun because you just pile on as many different things as possible to keep warm and the end result is like a rainbow vomited on you! YAY!

To be honest, my “uniform” of late has been leggings from OLD NAVY, jeans and jumpers. Most days I just want to stay home and hide under the blankets that T’s Grammy crocheted (we have 4 different ones lying around the house). You know, to stay warm. And then there’s the horrible desert dryness. I have lived most of my life in the seasonally homogenous tropical island of Singapore and then, I come here. The lack of humidity makes my hair behave but it also cracks my skin – literally, I get red welts on my body from the skin drying out and splitting. Mostly on my back because I don’t get enough lotion there.
Anyway, this brings me to my lack of outfit posts – because I’m still trying to get a hang of this climate even if I’ve been here for 1 1/2 years. I can’t figure out what to wear and how to wear what I own. And hence… the bag lady layers. So that’s my style for the next 4-6 months until the weather turns warmer in April. You’ll see lots of crazy layering because that’s how I’m going to make what I own work for me here.
What I’m wearing today:

Yesterday was cheap pizza Wednesday and I usually go to Glazier’s to get a large Cheese pizza for $5.99 but instead, T and I skipped our routine and had Chicago-style deep-dish at Amore Taste of Chicago (just about 15 minutes drive from where we live). It was delicious and superbly filling!! I’m glad I wore something bulky and baggy… HAHHAHA!!
What I wore yesterday:
Top: Grey superheroes sweatshirt from MARVEL
Accessories: Red & Blue Power Rangers earrings from VICTORIA JOMO at Haji Lane (Singapore); Black flower barrette from ASOS
Bottom: Light blue chambray skater skirt from OLD NAVY
Leggings: Crimson opaque tights from UNIQLO (these are highly recommended! Super smooth and durable too)
Footwear: Black slouchy boots from AMAZON
So after I got dressed, I went up to T’s office (which is on the 3rd floor of our house while our bedroom is on the 1st) and showed him my outfit. I asked him what he thought of it and of course, my husband who tries to always be gentle with me didn’t say anything mean even though I could see in his eyes that he was a little bewildered. He merely said “hmmm… that’s random. Are you selling these clothes?”. HAHAHA!
The weather just turned overnight. Literally. It was in the mid-30s (Celsius) one day and the next, it was under 20! So sweat shirts are in and shorts are out!!! T is still wearing t-shirts and shorts for now but he puts on an extra shirt when he leaves the house to walk Max with me. I, on the other hand, wear an additional scarf when walking outside. I wore this outfit to do my groceries – which means driving from point to point and only being exposed to the elements for short periods under a minute from car to store. Other than that, I need to beef it up.

This pineapple-print skirt has been worn only a handful of times since I bought it. I’m thinking of doing a clear-out sale on eBay to sell some of my things – maybe about 20-25 items. I have a lot of clothes that I don’t wear as much, and are no longer suitable for my lifestyle. $5 and $10 items – clothes and accessories. Maybe. I’m not sure yet. But if I do, this pineapple skirt should go because I think someone else would use it more often than I do. Also, I could use some shopping money for winter clothes.
What I’m wearing today:

I had a lot of outtakes when I did this shoot. It was supposed to be an easy and quick thing – set the timer, prance around and take 2 rounds of 5 shots each. BUT half-way through my first 2 photos I heard howling coming from the 3rd floor. T and Max were howling in unison and T was encouraging Max by going louder and faster. It was so hilarious and somewhat WTF that I just burst out laughing and stopped to listen to them.
