I’m really not a hardcore fan. I watched The Simpsons whenever it was on but I never followed it closely. Funnily enough, the 2 Cakeworthy pieces I bought are both from The Simpsons franchise.

I couldn’t get a decent picture of this weird Hervé by Hervé Léger cut-out top. But I wanted to share it because it’s weird. I like weird.
So my 2nd trimester has come and gone. I should really write a post about how it had been. In fact, there are so many things I want to blog about but my energy level seems to have dipped again. This baby is getting BIG! I can tell the difference between baby belly and fat belly – obviously I started the pregnancy being fat so I already had padding there. The baby bit is hard and tight. It’s been super uncomfortable. Also, a few weeks ago, I started feeling weird buzzing and experiencing numbness in my hands. Turns out, I have pregnancy carpel tunnel. My grip has been weak and I keep dropping things. Feet and legs, also swollen. I’m trying my best not to live in comfy leggings, baggy tops, without make-up etc. One of the few frivolous things that makes me feel normal is dressing up.
Tonight we’re heading out to a potluck dinner party with a small group of Singaporeans (and some Indonesians) who live in Las Vegas. And this is what I’m wearing.
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Black & grey half-sleeve plaid dress from GAP Maternity
Accessories: Blue & black striped Bronwyn bangle from Kate Spade; Blue acrylic chain mail necklace from eBay
Footwear: Gold bow-tie ballet flats from Old Navy
This is another non-maternity outfit. I think I’m doing pretty well with adapting my wardrobe considering I’m already 7 months pregnant. This is a new dress I recently got on sale and I can definitely see myself wearing it for as long as my shoulders fit. It’s really generously cut, stretchy and has 2 pockets! I KNOW… pockets in a dress!!! The dream! HAH!
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Grey printed long-sleeved flared dress from GAP
Accessories: Neon Yellow lace collar necklace from eBay
I think this is my only “real” maternity dress. So far, my wardrobe consists of regular clothes stretching their abilities to accommodate my burgeoning belly. Other than that, I have basics like maternity tank tops, leggings and shorts that I mix and match on a daily basis. I like this dress for the cut and print – I think understated silhouettes is the best way to wear florals. The yellow is really cheery and I think I can continue wearing it even when I’m not pregnant. The best part is, I got it for 50% off when I caught a GAP sale at the right time recently – just a little over $30.
I’m usually a UK16 (US12-14) but lost a little bit of weight during my 1st trimester due to the crazy things my pregnancy hormones put me through and I’m now a US10 (maternity size). I got this dress in a Medium.
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Yellow Floral empire-waist dress from GAP Maternity
Accessories: Pink acrylic baubles statement necklace from FOSSIL
Footwear: Sparkly pink sneakers with stretchy laces from CONVERSE (I believe this is a Youths range and I’m wearing the largest size.)
About 2 months ago, I saw this post by Jolene of Boardroom Blonde and remembered that I too owned that very same dress. I wasn’t expecting to buy anything that fateful day last December when my family were here visiting but the Las Vegas Premium Outlets do have very attractive prices and this Kate Spade dress was a little more than USD40 after multiple discounts (that’s including taxes!) And if you haven’t realised by now, I’m still trying to stretch my wardrobe instead of succumbing to getting an entirely new one with my maternity needs. This is a regular-sized dress. Very flattering cut. Stretchy and swingy. The elasticised waist is perfect right now! The orange chevron stripes – so cheery and Spring!
What I’m wearing:
Dress: Orange chevron striped dress from KATE SPADE
Accessories: Orange/Pink/White flower brooch from FOREVER21
Footwear: Red strappy platform sandals from ZARA WOMAN
Back to regular programming! Frivolous posts and all!
I spent the last weekend helping T at his booth at the 1st ever Playstation Experience. While he’s done several trade shows this year, this is the first one in our home state. I was honestly very skeptical before the event because there wasn’t very much hype unlike E3 or PAX. We were however kept sufficiently busy with a steady stream of people at the 2 terminals trying out the Axiom Verge demo. It also helped that T’s new business manager Dan lined up a lot of press coverage. It’s their first event together since signing a contract several months ago. I’m very grateful for all the help that has been rendered and I do see my husband being a little less nervous because really, all he wants to do is to make the game. We’re both very relieved that someone really connected is there to take care of the PR and design business strategies.
So anyway, T’s game has a playable demo in stores across the US right now. Stores like Target, Best Buy and Gamestop with Sony Playstation kiosks would have it! EXCITING TIMES!
And this was what I wore to yesterday when we picked Dan up from his hotel and sent him to the airport:
Dress: Mint Green Louisa dress from Hell Bunny
Outerwear: Blue denim jacket from High Sierra
Accessories: Gold & lilac statement necklace from H&M; Bright pink floral headband from ASOS
Leggings: Red opaque leggings from Uniqlo
Footwear: Dark beige moto boots from MADDEN GIRL
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Blue flared-sleeve tunic from FRENCH CONNECTION
Accessories: Pink flower headband from ASOS; Set of 4 plastic bangles from PRIMARK
Scarf: Pink KSNY X DARCEL scarf from KATE SPADE
Leggings: Teal opaque tights from UNIQLO
Footwear: Dark beige moto boots from MADDEN GIRL
Today’s outfit is more about the accessories than anything else. I got this necklace in the mail a few days ago from my dear dear friend Ryddy (along with chopsticks, another pin and a lovely birthday card). And because I love it so much, I’m going to wear it for the next few days – it’s kitschy but it’s so versatile with my wardrobe!
What I’m wearing today:
Top: Purple tank top with stripes from COTTON ON
Dress: Purple stretchy tank dress from TOPSHOP
Accessories: Rainbow-coloured felt button necklace from MIAOW & SQUEAK; Plastic PLAYMOBIL flower earrings from BITSCH KITCH; Pink bangle from SONIA RYKIEL POUR H&M
Bag: White pleather bag with pink bow and black accents from BETSEY JOHNSON
Footwear: Sparkly pink sneakers with elasticised laces from CONVERSE
As you would have figured by now (especially if you follow me on Instagram wastedfash10n), I’m kinda not in sync with my outfit posts. It takes me longer to cobble something here and upload. On instagram, everything is done on my phone so it’s easier and more timely while on the blog the details are clearer. Anyway, this was from my 36th birthday on the 13th! It was a nice lazy day. T made me a cake, we watched some TV and went out to eat (still on a budget so I brought along coupons to IHOP hahahaha).
What I’m wearing here:
Dress: Grey polka dotted strapless dress from H&M (this is a recent purchase so I’m sure it’s still in stores)
Outerwear: Blue/Red plaid shirt from L.O.G.G. H&M
Accessories: Black scarf with white stars from ACCESSORIZE; Brown cat-eye sunglasses from RAYBAN
Footwear: Blue rubber flipflops from OLD NAVY
