So the secret to taking good selfies is a weird angle huh? I can’t see my double chin in this photo! You know, I have to say that while I like looking at those posed or curated blogs/instagram pictures, it’s a little disconcerting when the person is unrecognisable. I see that happening to a lot of wedding photos – the contouring, falsies, air-brushing and what-not. Why do you want to not look like yourself so much? Maybe a little tweaking or colour-balancing is okay but I’ve seen pictures where their entire face shape is different. I do almost no editing because I’m just lazy like that. These days, if there is an “enhance” button, I’d click it. If not, you get the actual photo – warts and all. Besides, I don’t drive to the park to look wistfully just so I can take mood pictures with nice backgrounds.
Anyway, I have a huge head. I don’t like taking photos with the myspace-style angle (aka top angle down) if I can help it. When T does it, he always makes me look like a bobble-head doll because he’s almost an entire foot taller than I am. But when I get him to put the camera nearer his navel, the photos come out all blurry or weirder. HAHAHA!
What I’m wearing today:
Dress: Neon Yellow Fit & Flare Ponte-Tank Dress from OLD NAVY
Accessories: Rainbow-coloured felt button necklace from MIAOW & SQUEAK; Black dangly shards earrings from somestreetstallinTaiwan
Bag: White pleather bag with pink bow and black accents from BETSEY JOHNSON
Footwear: Black strappy heels from KIMCHI BLUE (URBAN OUTFITTERS)
Love the dress. My photos are warts and all too. Who has the time for all that editing?
Photo editing is one thing, what about putting all that make-up to be unrecognisable way even before the photo gets edited? 😀
