I’m wearing another copy dress today. Yes, it’s copy of the SOHOMODE tea dresses I own several of. I wouldn’t recommend it because a) it might hurt your favourite indie crafters b) it wouldn’t be as good as the original. However, I did it because I bought this super cute fabric at Spotlight and it has been sitting in my closet for more than a year, and I really didn’t know what I should do with it until someone suggested I copy one of my existing dresses. (Actually, I have a lot more fabric that I bought on a whim and I haven’t quite had time to use them yet. Eeeks!)

Initially, I was torn between sending 3metres of this material (quite heavy textile) to New York or getting it tailored here. My tailor is JUST NICE at Roxy Square and they did a fantastic job (with some minor readjusting). They tried capturing all the details and it looks great on. I’d highly recommend them if you need any alterations or tailoring done in Singapore. To be honest though, nothing beats the original, so my next tea dress is gonna be another SOHOMODE original (which is being custom designed right now).

JUST NICE is located at 50 East Coast Road, #02-97, Roxy Square, Singapore 428769. I’ve had at least 8 alterations done with them and 2 dresses tailored. This tea dress costs me S$130 – S$30 for 3m of fabric and S$100 for tailoring. Which is only slightly less than my SOHOMODE original. (However if I had sent the fabric over to New York, it’d cost a lot more than if I bought an original SOHOMODE dress. You know shipping rates are crazy these days…)
