Fat-shionista #448

This dress I’m wearing today is something that my pal Tamares bought for me to wear to her wedding in England in July of 2009! I haven’t seen it since then because Tammy wanted to copy this dress and make me one. Last Saturday, I not only got the dress back but also another really gorgeous copy of this dress in a vintage floral print!!!! It’s so beautiful I don’t know if I’ll be able to wear it soon or if I should save it for a special occasion!

What I’m wearing today:

Dress: Black floral print dress with purple belt from DOROTHY PERKINS

Accessories: T-Rex necklace from MANNEQUIN PLASTIC

Footwear: Black hidden wedge pumps from ZIPIA

  1. That dress is stunning on you! I can’t wait to see the other version. I’m so looking forward to hearing all about your wedding. If there is a reality show I want to watch it!! Good luck with everything and if you need to get rid of any of your accessories you know who to call ;D

    1. Hey Cheryl! Yeah, my fiancé is finding out more about it. It’s not so much about the wedding as it is about how we got engaged overseas and end up in the United States

  2. That’s dress is gorgeous! Excited to read about your big move. I am a South African ex-pat living in the UK and I am always interested to see how people experience relocating!

    1. It’s very flattering too! Sometimes all you need is a well-cut dress and it transforms and hides the problem areas!

Any tips for packing and relocating? I would love to hear what worked for you

      1. Nothing like the right shape and it’s often not what you expected. I relocated nine years ago so the packing process is a bit hazy. I do know that the fashion is completely different between South Africa and the UK so when I arrived I very quickly lost interest in my old clothes and within a year I don’t think I still had a single thing I had brought with me. Your clothes are so gorgeous I don’t think you’ll have that problem but it might be worth holding back shipping everything until you know what you really will want and need with you.

        1. That’s what I’ve been told too! So many of my friends told me to bring only 2-3 suitcases of my most essential belongings and to buy new clothes/accessories since I’ll have access to a better variety for cheap!
