Rants & Raves: I’m Proud of My Size

This is not a regular WIWT post. I’m posting this to join The Nearsighted Owl‘s “I’m Proud of My Size Link Up #21“.

It’s not like I set out to be fat but I just am. Also, I am not exactly “proud” about my size as it’s not an achievement but I’m not ashamed of it. I’m not hiding it under tents and I’m not pretending to be a size I’m not.

To be honest, I am constantly trying to lead a healthier lifestyle – quit smoking and drinking 2 years ago, and I’m also making myself exercise whenever I can. Health has nothing to do with size. I am ok with the fact that I might never lose weight but as long as I don’t need to be airlifted and I am healthy enough to take care of myself, I don’t mind whatever size I am! My happiness is not directly related to my size or shape!

I like that nearsightedowl says “My weight doesn’t come with a apology or preface on how I am working on it.”

So here I am!

I am a UK16 and I’m 1.5m (5 feet) tall.

Thanks Pearlyn for taking these photos!

  1. “My happiness is not directly related to my size or shape!” I love this! Sing it, sister! There’s so much truth in these words. If only the rest of women believed them…unfortunately, many sisters allow themselves to be brainwashed into society’s notion that beauty is only akin to one size. Nothing could be more false! The Significant Other says that confidence is the sexiest quality a woman can have and I half agree–to me, intelligence and a sense of humor are the sexiest qualities! I say, if you carry yourself well, if it is evident that you love yourself and your body, it shows! Love this post, Chloe! 🙂
