Rants & Raves: Good customer support from StreetDeal

I was supposed to go to Bangkok for a cheap holiday with my friend Natalie and last year I ended up buying a coupon from StreetDeal at S$199 per pax for 4Days 3 Nights, inclusive of flights and accomodation. Sounds too good to be true? It was.

I emailed Dynamikz Travels in November last year and followed all instructions down to a T, only to get an email notification that they were too busy to entertain me so I went down to their office with my friend to book the holiday instead. It was a dingy and messy office located in Orchard Towers. A Filipino guy called Ben sorted out the travel bookings for us and we were due to fly on 3 February 2012 and return on 6 February 2012.

Natalie was supposed to top up S$372 on both our behalf. Our top-up was only due on 15 January 2012 and Nat wrote them on 4 January to double check some rumours because Nat’s mum read stuff about scams and problems with these cheap travel deals and we were both worried in case we got caught in them. On January 12 this year, Ben wrote to Natalie and we were told that the booking had to be cancelled because of the Bangkok floods. Their answer was for us to wait till later this year to rebook and they’ll extend the promotion to us till October 2012.

Last month, I wrote in again to rebook and I received an automated email from them telling me to contact STREETDEAL directly for a refund.

On 17 July, I emailed StreetDeal’s customer support and within days, I had my problems sorted out. The customer service officer who served me was a Mrs Jessy Retnam and by 26 July, the amount I paid StreetDeal was refunded back into my credit card.

Dynamikz Travel is bad but StreetDeal is not. This will not deter me from shopping the daily deal sites, especially StreetDeal since I know that they have excellent customer support and I’ll be safe using their portal.

This is definitely a rave. Thumbs up for good customer service from StreetDeal!

  1. Thank you for the compliment. We always promise to give our best to our customers. Thank you. Its great to have customers like you who are understanding and able to give us some time to sort things out and solve the matter for you. Thank you…Have a great day….

    1. Can Streetdeal refund me the 3x$9.90 which they have said in their reply email to me? It has been 3 months and they have not refund as they have claimed in writing. Streetdeal do not answer calls to the company and has not replied to my latest email.

    2. Hi Streetdeal,

Every time I try to log into street deal to purchase Starry Night Galaxy Projector, the website crashes and doesn’t recover until three hours later, only to crash again. This has been rather frustrating.

Hope to hear from you soon.

  2. Guys, this blogger is bullshitting. This entire post looks like a complete piece of marketing advertisement for Streetdeal, with links back to their website. I wish bloggers nowadays have more integrity than this.

If you want to experience StreetDeal customer service( which is a joke), trying calling their hotline at 63610888, and you will find that no customer officer ever picks up the phone. Try emailing them too, and see if they reply because I have done so for consecutive days at different timings, and there is no reply, not even a confirmation of receipt.

To summarise, StreetDeal is highly unreliable. Customer service is almost non-existent. If you are unconvinced, try it yourself and I am sure you will experience the same “excellent customer service” by this blogger. My alternate advice will be save yourself the trouble and go with Groupon. And please, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR PREMIUIM ACCOUNT. You will not be able to unsubscribe on their website even though in their FAQ, they claim to be able to do so.

    1. HAHAHAHA I’m leaving your comment here because you’re the loser for getting so worked up about daily deals sites. How much time do you actually spend there, “RAJ”?

Thanks for adding hits to my site! Feel free to share it with friends whom you think should know about this bullshit blogger with no integrity!

      1. I wouldn’t go so far as saying this is a sponsored post and Raj probably shouldn’t too without proof, but my experience is similar to Raj’s . I bought a product and paid for postage via registered mail on Nov 16. I followed instructions in the voucher and provided my address . I have not received what I paid for and streetdeals are basically ignoring my emails (I have sent them 3 emails in 3 weeks still no reply). The least they could do is respond and say they are looking into it. Maybe Jessy who provided you with such excellent customer service could explain why their service is so inconsistent or why there was no response to my emails?

p.s. Chloe, I think you would also be “worked up” too if you paid for something and you didn’t get what you paid for.. Don’t think that makes someone a loser.

        1. Gilbert, thanks for your comment. But I think you’ve misread my comment. How is it reasonable to call someone a loser because he’s angry at not getting what he paid for? He’s a loser for coming to my blog and raving/ranting at me, hiding behind a fake email and accusing me of faking the post. I’m sorry about your bad experiences but I’ve had a chain of proper emails documenting the return of my money and I just wanted to share. Maybe it’s my good karma because just the day before it happened, I chalked up something good.

I think you need to infer the statements more accurately.

And again, sorry for your bad experience. I don’t work for them and daily deal sites are not good for your pockets anyway.

          1. Like I said, he shouldn’t have said that , that was uncalled for. But you basically said he was a loser for “for getting so worked up about daily deals sites.”.

My response was simply that he got worked up (although I could argue he was just sharing how bad their customer service was as a counterpoint rather than getting worked up) as he didn’t get what he paid for and that didn’t make him a loser or anyone else for that matter. Maybe you should have worded clearly that he was a loser for ranting/raving at you instead , I would have had no argument with that. 🙂

Anyway I googled Streetdeals customer experience to see if other people experienced the same bad service and landed up here (I got a feeling he did the same).
