I’m quite lucky to have been able to see Juanita again in a matter of weeks! This Globe-trotting woman was just in Nepal YESTERDAY! Before she heads off Down Under then returning to the other side of the world in Switzerland, we took the day to chit-chat and pick up from where we left off.
First was a late lunch. Then we watched The Dictator (funny! But not as good as Borat), then we wandered around Arab Street to buy fabric again. I was hunting for a plain BLUE cotton that I am determined to use with a retro floral fabric I bought with her the last time. I went with my gut feeling and I think it matches (see picture for reference. How?).
After that, we walked around the shops and ended up in a Turkish restaurant for mint tea.
Then we shared a dinner of Fish Briyani and Chicken Mutarbak at Zam Zam (washed down with a pink rose Bandung drink).
We shopped around Haji Lane for a bit and I picked up a gold lightning bolt necklace (Wicked Laundry) for a steal at $10! And then I couldn’t resist buying an overpriced pair of Power Rangers danglys for $20 (Victoria Jomo).
It was a good day…
shopping in the Arab street was inspired by watching the dictator or was it just a coincidence? you bought some lovely fabrics!! …and a Turkish restaurant (if only for a tea), with a good friend that you don’t see so often… what a great day!!! I so wish I could meet with you guys 😉
Hahhaha it was a coincidence!! I love the Arab Street area!
If you do ever come to Singapore, I’ll host you and bring you around!
Go go power rangers!
That blue fabric can. Good memory.
