What I’m wearing today:

Top: Dark pink cotton tunic top from ISLAND SHOP

Outerwear: Sheer mustard yellow jacket from some small shop in FAR EAST PLAZA

Bottoms: Grey footless tights from leggingsworld*2010 on eBay

Accessories: Gold weave-pattern dangly earrings from ALDO; Copper chunky ring from ISLAND SHOP; Natural rattan weave bangle from ISLAND SHOP

Footwear: Gold ballet flats from PRETTY FIT

Today’s ethnic-inspired outfit is a nod to Deepavali (or Diwali) celebrations that happen next week. It is an important festive occasion in Singapore because the Indians and Hindus celebrate it.

Instead of a punjabi-suit, I put together something that resembles it. The sheer jacket is supposed to emulate a shawl because it’s so flowy. I cover my arms and legs modestly. Bright colours, always a must with me and of course, Indian festivities. Gold jewellery always look so good on Indian women, I’m not sure if I’m washing the gold out with my pallour. So what do you think of my take on an ethnic-inspired get-up?
